This looks cool! Michel Gondry, Leos Carx and Bong Joon-ho each direct a section of this “triptych” film. Interesting idea, no?!

The Flux Screening at the Hammer Museum was great! There were over 800 people there, so it was a huge turnout and a really good event. The films were well received, and I talked to a lot of people who really appreciate all the work that goes into the project. Brian Gossett, Joel Trussell and I also sketched an Exquisite Corpse live on stage while also trying to explain how the project works and the reasons behind doing it. I’ll see if I can get a good picture of it and post it here …
The other films that screened were Aaron Rose’s Become a Microscope – 90 Statements on Sister Corita
Logan’s A Volta and Three Legged Legs’ Gifted two new music videos for N.A.S.A.
Ace Norton’s Soundscapes
My random highlights:
I got to sit next to Catherine Keener. I also met Money Mark and gave him a DVD. I got to speak with Xeni Jardin of Boing-Boing and she’s really interested in covering the films. And if reports are true, Kanye West showed up as well. Bryan Lee says he saw him there. I don’t doubt it.
I got to meet Rafaël Macho, Anthony Furlong, Kirby McClure and Julia Gregorian there. I hear that Chris Riehl and the Born crew were there as well.
Thanks again to Jonathan and Meg of Flux for putting it on…
Now on to NYC!
Shots is featuring one of the PSST! films in its new issue out now. Hare Four Thrillhare by Fons Schiedon, Santamaria and Born will be on shots DVD included with the issue and ech of the artists were interviewed by Stephen Whelan.
They’ve also put us up on their news page. So welcome shots visitors. More films to see shortly!
Great interview up at Mark Webster’s Motion Design blog with Adrian Shaugnessy which touches on Motion Graphic Design amongst other things. Give it a listen …
Also, I can’t recommend Adrian’s book enough: How To Be A Graphic Designer Without Losing Your Soul

Post Typography writes a brilliant screed here.
“Like a farmer tilling the soil, we are also unafraid to get our hands dirty to reap the fruits of our labor. We dispel the myth of the invisible designer.”

Great DIY films here.
10 Things I Have Learned About The Sea is a new film by Lorenzo Fonda. Shot on a 20-day trip from LA to Shangai aboard a container ship in Dec. 2008. It’s a meditation that is gorgeous and hypnotic and thoughtful.
The haunting soundtrack is by Hammock.
